ARPA Funds Remodel
City Council has approved a $40,000 remodel of the old City Hall side of the Library building. The funds will come out of what the city received for ARPA funds. There will be no cost to the citizens of Greenwood.
The remodel will include creating a private meeting room for meetings, social work visits and quiet studying. There will be new flooring, better insulation and new lighting throughout the remodeled sections. The employee work room will receive a more open floorplan as well as a new utility sink.
WHY AN EXPANSION???
Library services, programs and user needs have outgrown the current space. We have had to limit the amount of patrons that are able to participate in certain programs. We have also had to cull certain genres to make room for new books. The restrooms are not handicapped accessible and there is very little space to sit and read or study quietly.
WHAT WILL BE IN THE EXPANSION?
Automatic Doors
Handicapped accessible Restrooms w/ baby changing stations
Larger Kid zone Area with seating and technology
More seating throughout Library for patron use to read/study quietly
More bookshelves for library items
Larger program room
CCTV throughout
